Usa, My new home

I arrived to Newark pretty sad over leaving my family, but at the same time exited over meeting my hostfamily. I was told to look after a pair of pink pants, the woman who was gonna pick me up was my hostdad ex wife. Then finally I saw her and she was also quite a personality, she was very outgoing and talked in a way that made everything sound fantastic, Like oh mygosh u look italian, Oh my gosh u r so lucky, oh my gosh that smells so good and so on.. U rarely meet sweds like that..
at first we drove to get my bags at Sues place and then we went off to my new home. The house was white with blue windowshutters..a pretty house.
My host family were an American dad, a swedish mum two twins at the age of one and a half, and a dog. Then the ex wife was there alot and the dad also had two older sons not living at home. and then they also had a nanny that I was gonna work with.
Not many days after my arrivel I got to meet other au pairs in the area at a Lcc meeting, we went to starbucks together a lot after that.
I had to work from 7 am to 10 am and then 5 pm to 8 pm, and on saturdays. When I first got there I did not like it that much because I felt I knew nobody and I could not sleep cause the kids cried alot at night. But then we I got to know other au pairs it all became easier. It is hard to sum it all together, I was with that family for about a month before I moved to another, during that time I was lot at Starbucks, visited Sue, went to a new church, went to NYC and I had my birthday there too.
The question that I get alot is: what went wrong?
I think with this family a lot of things went wrong, it was not that they were bad people really, more that I got there under bad circumstances when both me and they were stressed out by all the new things. It is hard to put what happened in words so this is what u will have to settle with.
Anyways, it is hard to have move again when u just feel u got to know people so I prayed that I would get a new family close by, and I did. They lived closer to church and closer to Sue, so I was really glad.

Usa, Missouri

So, after the school I did something really different. Instead of going to my hostfamily right away I went to my relatives in Missouri, St Louis. My relatives there are my granduncle, his wife and their little baby and it was gonna be the first time I was ginna visit them so I was really exited, cause the first time I think I said I wanting to visit was when I was 15, so 5 years later I could finálly do it.
At first they took me to the arch, which is a really high building looking like a horse shoe haha.
so we went up with a weird train to the top and it was really high, about 630 feet, which is higher then the Statue of liberty..the scary thing is that when I and my aunt was up there the arch moved, it like shifted a little from one side to the other, and when we asked they said that it does that..haha, there is nothing wrong.
Then we went to eat, (or maybe we went before) and the thing that hit me was that yes, the rumours are true, Americans are fat. The majority of the people there were insanly obease, that was a really strong impression. Another thing was that they had no sidewalks, they drive all over, that is also true.
But I have to say that st Louis is pretty nice, they have a nice park and u can see the mississipi river which I thaught was cool..
The humidity was insane there though and it was really hot.. u did not want to leave the house because the second u came out u were in need of a shower. But since I only was there for a few days we were active and doing a bunch of things.
One day we went to this palce with a really fun river, it was like an adventure park in the nature, the river had a bunch of rocks that made little waterfall and there was a stream strong enough to drag u along. we also went to a place with really cool rocks, and there were lizards and weird bugs in thoose woods...
I did spend alot of time indoors too, since the baby could not go for very long adventures, so I got to play with the baby and the dog alot, and I got to see my uncles collection of train modells. It was so cool, I have never seen anything like it in a persons home.
In his basement he had build up a lot of mini raliroads and trains and it was like a little city, every childs dreams..and I bought him a windmill to joing the city haha..
Overall, I had I really good time with them and they treated me so nice, I could almost say like a queen. The last day when I was heading back to Newark it was really sad, it was hard to leave them, but I had to get on that plane, back to Newark.

USA, The School

A lot of people are asking me about Usa, though it has been over a month since I came home, so I decided to write a little bit about it.
I went to Usa as an au pair end of July. The first 4 days I was at a campus, an au pair school. It was a lot of fun, got to meet a lot of people from every type of country like mexico, Australia (guess if I was enjoying the accent) Colombia and offcourse like 150 Germans. They seem to be wanting to take over the world. So the first days it did not feel like Usa since I was surrounded by german no matter where I went. But the Lationos were alot of fun, haha they made me dance with them, and they Sweds thaught they were crazy. We were about ten Sweds there, outnumbered. I also met this really nice girl there, she is from Switherland, I think she was the only from there, she was also a christian so that made me real glad to hear that we were going to places close to each other.
I have to describe the school to you:
The school area was very big, it was an old school that was now used as Cultural cares introducing week place. we slept in one house and had our classes in another.
For me, who is a citybean, I found it very naturish..mosqitos everywhere...
Then there was some other houses and a lot of green areas, and the sea, or maybe it was a lake..
The most pretty thing though were fireflies, when it got dark you could see them and they were like little stars..
The houses were not the least luxurios...imagine your old school showers and the worst bathrooms you have been at and I think it would be pretty much the same..so I was glad it was only 4 days.
Evryday we had lessons in how to take care of kids, like don´t shake a baby and a bunch of ither things. our teacher was really cool, a true new yorker, I so enjoyed her outgoing way.
One day A cop came to our school to talk about safety, and another time we had a singalong..that was funny. all the countries gathered and had songs from their countris, the Sweds had björnen sover and smågrodorna with the dance and all haha, and I was the bear adn chased everybody of the stage, haha to be a child again...One group of germans had a really funny one too, somethings about a bee I think..I did not get it but it looked funny, wish I had a Camera..
The day before we were departing to wherever we were supposed to go we had a one day trip ti NYC. Sue and I got on the same bus, and went off to see the city for the first time.
It was really cool to see it, but for some reason it all felt so familiar..bet it´s cause of the tv..
we got a tourguide on the bus and went all over NYC, and we got the privilege to see the naked Cowboy at Times Square haha lol.. Then we took the ferry to see the Statue of liberty. After that we got a few hours to see Nyc on our own..Sue and I went off and were just walking around up and down the fift ave..I also tried my first Dunkin donuts and I honestly don´t see why my friends make such a fuss about it..i also remember Sue looking for a phone, haha..yeah well that was my first visit and ven though not much happened, it still was really cool to just be there, I was going back anyways..
The next day I got up early and got a ride to Newark airport to go to my relatives, but u can read about that in the next one.

The first blog.

So, I decided to try n write blog about all of my adventures for those who wanna keep up with what I am doing. Hope I will be persistent now and keep writing...
